Last day of patronage survey

Parents in Trim are being reminded that the Department of Education & Skills survey on parental preference for school type in their area is closing today (Friday 9th November). Any parent of a primary school child in the town who would like to have a say in the types of school that will be available for their children in the future should log on to www.education.ie and follow the 'Survey of Parents' link. Earlier this year, the Advisory Group to the Forum on Patronage and Pluralism in the Primary Sector made recommendations to Education Minister Ruairi Quinn on the divesting of patronage where there is a stable population and a demand for diversity of school types. As a result, parents of primary school-going children in Trim are being surveyed along with parents in Arklow, Castlebar, Tramore and Whitehall in Dublin.
