Navan edge out Boyne

Navan collected another set of AIL Div 2B points when they got the better of Boyne last night at Balreask Old by 18-13 in front of a large crowd. Navan survived intense late pressure as Boyne surged forward in search of a winning score as Navan made it three wins from three in their league campaign despite losing prop Eoin King with an injury on 34 minutes. Dave Sheridan was forced off when he also picked up a knock. The sides were level 3-3 at the interval with Alan Hickey slotting over a penalty for the hosts and former Navan player Niall Kerbey replying in kind for the visitors. The second-half was just underway when Hickey skilfully sent the ball between the posts from another penalty while Simon Deevy got in for an unconverted touchdown. Simon Hogan also grabed a try and Hickey nailed the conversion and Navan led 18-10 and held on.
