Jackula descends on Navan

As part of the Spirits of Meath Halloween Festival there will be plenty of spooky fun at Solstice this mid-term. On Saturday, 27 October at 7pm Jackula performs a spooktacular magic and juggling show. Jackula is Dracula's bumbling younger brother, on a quest become the world's most magical vampire! Laugh as Jackula makes his pet ghost dance, gasp as he balances five glasses of water on his face, and smile as children help him step out of his older brothers shadow. Every child will perform a trick and receive a treat after the show. Suitable for children aged four to 12. Then get ready for Halloween with a costume and crafts workshop on Tuesday 30th and Wednesday 31st October. There will be face painting and material crafts with local artist Sarah Standing over two days. Classes have limited availability and are suitable for 5-8 year olds and for 8-12 year olds. Families, teenagers and adults will all equally enjoy Tim Burton's Halloween Classic 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' screening in the Solstice Theatre on Tuesday 30th October at 7.30pm. This stop motion-animated movie featuring catchy songs throughout, is a great family film. But beware - scary Halloween creatures lurk - with skeletons, nasty toys, and creepy villains! Children will also be fascinated by the interactive Hall of Mirrors exhibition. Learn about the process of vision and see yourself distorted, turned upside-down and even stepping out of your own body through scientific experiments of perception. Drop in this mid-term during gallery hours 11-4, Tuesday-Saturday, free admission. Group tours are available.
