Coscán and harp ensemble in free Swan Lane gig

Slane-based band Coscán are renowned for their exiting and exhilarating live shows. Much of their original material is influenced by their location in Meath's famous Boyne Valley. Having travelled extensively over the past few years and with two albums under their belt, they have a diverse range of styles with music from Scotland, Galicia in Spain and South America. With this wonderful mixture of instrumental and vocal offerings they give a full-bodied introduction to Irish music at its best, anf play on Swan Lane on Sunday next, 5th August, of the bank holiday weekend. Supporting Coscan on the night are the Meath Harp Ensemble. Formed in 2003, the members are all past and present students of the Meath Harp Academy. Individually they have excelled in competitions and exams and are growing into an exceptional harp ensenble. Their concert program has a wide variety of genres of music from Irish to light classical to South American. Past engagements include the National Concert Hall, Dublin Castle, University College Dublin, Trim Swift Festival, O'Carolan Harp Festival, Drogheda Arts Festival, Art in Action and An Cruit Chruitireachta, Cabra Castle, Slane Castle, Derbyshire Harp Festival and Turin, Italy. The ensemble is directed by Dearbhail Finnegan. A special guest appearance also on the night from Navan2Navan. A group of Meath musicians, singers and dancers travelling to Navan in Canada. Swan Lane doors open at 9pm and admission is free.
