Meath open with a win

Meath opened their bid for the 2012 All-Ireland Premier Junior Crown with a win today in Navan. The Meath players produced an encouraging performance as they out-gunned Laois by 2-9 to 0-12. The sides were level at half-time (1-3 to 0-6). Meath coach John Davis said that he would be "looking for some improvement" from the players ahead of the next game, away to Armagh next Saturday. Meath will play Armagh away next Saturday with further games against Roscommon (21st July), Down (28th July) and Kildare (4th August).
