Toner's Twickenham appearance

It was back to the "grind" for Devin Toner on Tuesday morning as he resumed training with Leinster just three days after he had helped the province achieve rugby history. Toner was sprung the bench after 58 minutes during Leinster's resounding 42-14 victory over Ulster in Saturday's Heineken Cup final at Twickenham. The towering Moynalvey man replaced Leo Cullen and helped the boys in blue complete a demolition job against an Ulster side who crumbled in the face of Leinster's relentless attacks. This was Leinster's third Heineken Cup success in three years, an achievement that puts them to the forefront of European rugby. And this week Joe Schmidt's side was back in training as they continued their preparations for the RaboDirect final against the Ospreys at the RDS on Sunday, 4.0. Leinster are aiming to become the first side since the London Wasps in 2004 to win both the Heineken Cup and the league in the same season. Toner collected his third Heineken Cup medal at Twickenham having been part of the squad in 2009 and last year when the boys in blue engineered an amazing comeback to defeat Northampton (33-22) at the Millennium Stadium after trailing 6-22 at the break. This time around, however, was extra special for the Moynalvey man. "For me I think this was the best victory, it was the most enjoyable this year because I played in a lot of games, a felt a lot more part of the team this time around," he told the Meath Chronicle. "It was an unbelievable feeling to help the team win three Heineken Cups in four years. Since Saturday's victory much has been written and spoken about Leinster with some pundits suggesting they are now well on the way to establishing a 'dynasty' that could dominate European rugby for some time to come.
