Final decision on manager rests with club delegates

Four-time All-Ireland SFC-winning manager Sean Boylan could be in line for a dramatic return to the helm of Meath football if a recommendation from Meath County Board is passed at a meeting in Áras Táilteann this evening (Wednesday). Following a string of disappointing performances culminating in a humiliating loss to Louth and subsequent relegation to NFL Div 3, current Meath manager Seamus McEnaney has come under increasing pressure and, last Thursday, he was requested by Meath County Board chairman Barney Allen to resign from his position. The Meath players gathered for a team meeting on Monday night to discuss their situation, and while it is believed that the majority of the players back the manager, they are reluctant to make any public comment.
