Rath Chairn dancer makes Sky final

Rath Chairn dancer, Dane McKiernan, and his dance troupe, Prodijig, have qualified for the live final of Sky 1HD's television show 'Got To Dance' which takes place on 4th March, moving one step closer to winning the £250,000 cash prize. Dane and his colleagues qualified from the first live semi-final, which took place on Sunday night. Prodijig are a group of Irish dancers from the current professional tour of 'Riverdance' who want to make their style of Irish dance 'cool'. On Sunday night, judge Kimberly Wyatt told them they danced like champions, while Adam Garcia described them as amazing. Judge Ashley Banjo called them "truly fantastic!" Meanwhile, 11 year-old Lauryn Masterson from Clonmagadden Fort in Navan will compete in another semi-final on 12th February. She is a member of the Lil Hustlers dance troupe which beat off tough competition from all over the UK and Ireland to earn their place in the semi-final. Hosted by Davina McCall, 'Got To Dance' scoured Britain and Ireland for the best crews, troupes and solo dancers of all styles and ages. Six acts battled it out in the first semi-final on Sunday night for two spots in the live final, but it was Prodijig and Liverpool's Tayluer and Elliot who won over the hearts of viewers, winning the public vote. Dane McKiernan, a son of James and Mary McKiernan, is a talented Irish dancer who toured with 'Riverdance' for three years, and before that, with 'Rhythm of the Dance'.
