Old Darnley hosts Bagatelle this Saturday

The Old Darnley Lodge Hotel is getting ready to welcome legendary Irish band Bagatelle to Athboy this coming weekend as part of the band's 30th anniversary tour. Bagatelle will appear live at Buck Mulligans nightclub this Saturday, 4th February, for a special one-off gig, for which tickets are priced at €12 each. It is some achievement for a band to reach three decades and for its music and songs to still be as popular now as they were way back when it all began. In the 1980s, Bagatelle churned out great hits like 'Summer in Dublin' and other household hits like 'Second Violin', 'Trump Card', 'Leeson Street Lady', 'All Fall Down Philadelphia', 'Johnny Set 'Em Up', 'Love is the Reason' and 'I Need You', all of which have certainly stood the test of time, as indeed the band themselves have, and are still sounding as good as ever! Bagatelle continue to tour in far-flung places across Europe, the US, United Arab Emirates and China as well as in Ireland. Their 30th Anniversary Collection brings together a special double CD set, featuring 12 brand new original tracks including 'She Doesn't Live Here Anymore', which was originally written for and recorded by the late Joe Dolan and is now a tribute to him. Also includes a first ever, "Live in Concert" CD from the Millenium Forum Theatre, Derry, of all their greatest hits. In their 30 years on the music scene, Bagatelle have shared stages with U2, Bob Marley, Thin Lizzy and Van Morrison, to name a few. After 30 years of incredible music, numerous hits, endless tours and all the ups and downs of the music business, this band is undeniably one of Ireland's all-time favorite bands, playing some of Ireland's all-time favorite music. Tickets for this weekend's Athboy show can be purchased at hotel reception or on the door on the night. A disco into the early hours will follow the concert.
