Musical societies combine for night of cabaret

Five Meath Musical Societies come together this Sunday night, 30th October in a very unique historical musical experience in Trim Castle Hotel. Trim Musical Society, with Trim Castle as its backdrop, plays host to Meath musical societies, St Mary's Navan, Kells, Ratoath and Dunboyne in a five star dinner cabaret celebrating all things musical. Trim, now in its 26th year is in rehearsal for 'Sweeney Todd'; Navan is the oldest group celebrating its 40th anniversary with 'Aladdin' in February and 'Little Shop of Horrors' in May while Ratoath is giving us a little 'Spice of Life' on the night with excerpts from 'Sweet Charity' and 'Chicago'. Kells, at 36 years young is putting on a seasonal Christmas Crackers show while reprising the success of 'The Cole Porter Story' for its cabaret contribution. Dunboyne, the newcomers at just seven years old will be entertaining with some Frank Sinatra and a little light opera. There has been huge support from within each society pooling resources to make this event happen many giving their services free. Each musical society shares a common love of music and musicals as they strive to bring musical theatre to audiences in their area. The Meath Musical Society five star cabaret is both a social and fundraising event with each society selling a designated amount of tickets.
