Garvan (Robert) Milligan has been missing since November.

Garvan: Gardai dismiss gang theory

Gardai leading the investigation into the disappearance of Wilkinstown man, Garvan (Robert) Milligan, have dismissed reports that he may have fallen foul of a crime gang and say there is no evidence to support this theory. Mr Milligan (35) has been missing from his Wilkinstown home since 15th November last year and the last confirmed sighting of him was in the Broadford area of Kildare where he visited a pub that night. Mr Milligan's disappearance featured on last week's RTE Crimecall programme and Gardai say they received a number of calls regarding possible sightings which have been investigated but said they are satisfied that none of these were Mr Milligan. Recent media reports that Mr Milligan may have been a victim of a crime gang were dismissed by Gardai who say there is no evidence to support this. The suggestion has also been rejected by Mr Milligan's family and his sister, Andrena Milligan-Crahan, said the suggestion was very upsetting. Mr Milligan is originally from Carrigans, Co Donegal, but had been living in Wilkinstown with his sister, her husband and their young son, for the past four years. He worked for the Department of Agriculture at Eurofarms in Duleek. Mr Milligan is described as six feet in height, of heavy build, with short dark hair, going grey. He left his home in his car, a Green Suzuki Baleno, registration number 98 D 17890, on Monday 15th November. He was seen leaving Giles's shop in Longwood at around 5.30pm on 15th November and it is understood that he then travelled to the Broadford area, where he had a drink in a local pub. A signal from Mr Milligan's phone was recorded in the Boyle area of Roscommon the next day, 16th November. Mr Milligan's vehicle has not been located since his disappearance and Gardai have asked people to keep a lookout for the car, which may be parked up somewhere. Ms Milligan-Crahan said the last few months have been a nightmare for the family and she has renewed the family's appeal for anyone with any information on her brother's disappearance to contact Navan Garda Station on (046) 907 9930.
