Navan pupil scoops monthly award

Meath primary schools can still submit entries for the Meath Chronicle / Newgate Mazda sports achievers awards as the January and February categories have still to be finalised. The delayed presentations, due to the inclement weather and school holidays, for Novermber and December took place last week. The November nominees were from St Oliver Plunkett's, Navan, St Patrick's, Stackallen and Carnaross. St Oliver Plunkett's NS pupil Tara Gallagher took the monthly award which includes a €250 Newgate Mazda voucher for her school. All the November nominees received a Sports Achiever medal, a Sports Achiever plaque to be displayed in the school. The December presentations will feature in next week's edition of the Meath Chronicle. Nominations for January will be accepted until the end of this week while the final round of nominations for February must be submitted before St Patrick's Day, Thursday 17th March. The final, when each of the monthly nominees will be considered for the overall award, will take place before Easter. The adjudicating panel will select one overall winner who will receive a bike with safety helmet and a €2,000 sports voucher for his/her school. Newgate Mazda is encouraging parents and schools to nominate individuals who give their all to be involved in sport - on or off the pitch. The competition is open to primary school pupils aged 12 and younger and there are still two monthly prizes of €250 sports kit vouchers to be won. The entry form (included on this page) will be printed regularly in the Meath Chronicle. Entrants are encouraged to complete the form and leave it into the Mazda showroom at Newgate Motors, Navan or the Meath Chronicle office. Forms that are photocopied will not be accepted. The monthly nominees are: September - Rose Finnegan (Carnaross NS), Joe Ennis (Rathmore NS, Athboy) Shannon Sheehy (St Paul's NS, Navan); October - Ronan Cahill (Ratoath), Jack Brady (Dunsany); November - Tara Gallagher (St Oliver Plunkett's, Navan), Frank O'Reilly (Carnaross), Karl Rice (St Patrick's, Stackallen). * Committed to offering customers the highest level of product and service, Newgate Motor Company, Navan, Co.
