Trim floral art prizes presented at AGM

The well-attended Trim Floral Art AGM was held in Trim Castle Hotel on Monday 17th January. The results for competitions held in 2010 were announced and the trophies and prizes were presented by Cllr Gerald Reilly and parish priest Fr Sean Henry. Winner of the Friendship Cup for beginners was Annette McDonagh and runner-up was Finola Perry. The Frank Reilly Trophy for the novice class was won by Maura Murray with Patricia McDonnell second and Maura Howley third. Very highly commended in this section was Yvonne McElhinney. Imelda Sheridan was awarded the Trim Town Council Cup in the intermediate class and Anne McBride was runner-up. The Fr Farrell Trophy for the advanced class was won by Margaret Neary with Denise Daly as runner-up. Following the business of the evening, a short demonstration was given by Denise Daly, whose stunning modern designs were very well-received by the appreciative audience. Light refreshments rounded off an enjoyable evening. As usual, Trim Floral Art has thanked the staff and management of Trim Castle Hotel for its continued support. The next meeting of Trim Floral Art takes place on Monday 7th February in Trim Castle Hotel at 8pm when a demonstration will be given by Candy Holten. New members and visitors are always welcome and, with a full year of events and outings already planned, 2011 promises to be an enjoyable and exciting year for Trim Floral Art.
