Crystal Swing are joining showband legends in Trim next week.

Collins’ Showband Show returns to Trim

The Ronan Collins Showband Show 'Reelin In The Showband Years' which was a complete sell out last year, returns to Trim Castle Hotel on Friday 14th January. Once again, there is a really great new line-up on the show, and RTE's Ronan Collins is host and compere, who will also sing his tributes to Joe Dolan and Dickie Rock. The line-up includes Crystal Swing from Cork who are a sensation around the world. Number one with 'The Hucklebuck' and 'He Drinks Tequila' they are great fun, and also great entertainers. The show also features the big sound of The Conquerors Showband, one of the greatest showbands of them all and still packing them in everywhere they go. The Galway boys sing 'Baby Blue' and many more. Des Lee appears with the Miami Showband. Des took over as lead singer after the tragic death of Fran O'Toole, and wrote 'Clap Your Hands, Stamp Your Feet', one of their many hit records. Eurovision stars Tommy and Jimmy Swarbrigg performed for Ireland in 1975 and 1977, and had 20 hit records throughout their career, including 'Looking Through The Eyes Of A Beautiful Girl', 'If Ma Could See Me Now', 'It's Nice To Be In Love Again' and 'That's What Friends Are For.' Lorraine McDonald is one of the brightest talents to emerge from the latter days of the Showband Boom, and also appearing is D J Curtin and The Kerry Blues, now Las Vegas based, and working as hard as ever. DJ still has a great big voice which can cover everything from Tom Jones to Englebert Humperdinck. The show's exciting finale is an all cast salute to the exciting showband era, when all of the cast join up in a medley of songs from the unique showband years. Tickets are now on sale at the hotel at (046) 948 3000.
