Dunshaughlin landscape firm’s award for Ashbourne project
Dunshaughlin-based landscaping and maintenance company Sheridan Landscaping has received an award for maintenance work carried out on the Church Fields estate in Ashbourne. Sheridan Landscaping won the order of merit in the residential, commercial and public authority maintenance category of the Association of Landscape Contractors of Ireland (ALCI) Awards, recently held in Newcastle, County Down. The awards are presented to winning commercial and private landscaping schemes throughout the island of Ireland, The ALCI represents landscaping contractors all over Ireland and is committed to the development of the landscape industry by ensuring quality of workmanship, best practice, reliability and emphasis on training. It recognises the excellence of design and landscape contracting achieved by its members through the annual all-Ireland awards which have been running for 28 years. Patrick Sheridan, director of Sheridan Landscaping, said: â€œWe are delighted to have received this award and I am especially delighted for the staff who have put in the hard work throughout the year in maintaining Church Fields to an award-winning standard. For a small growing company, it is a great acheivement.â€ The judging was carried out by independent landscaping experts who judged the entries from all around the country. The judges were: Dr Christy Boylan, landscape consultant and ex-chair of the International Federation of Parks and Recreation Administration (IFPRA), Europe, and Gary Graham, project manager, Bloom; marketing development officer, Bord Bia, and judge on RTE's 'Super Garden' programme.
