Dundalk singer/songwriter for Lantern gig

Appearing in The Lantern, Navan, on Friday 26th November, is Conor Boyle on his Beautiful Horizon Tour, with support from Sinead McNally. Boyle is an Irish born singer/songwriter from Dundalk who has spent the last number of years writing material for his new album and playing at singer/songwriter showcases around Dublin and Louth. He is now venturing out on his first nationwide tour to promote the release of his debut single, 'Beautiful Horizon'. Boyle is being supported on his tour by another up and coming act from Dundalk, Sinéad McNally. Conor's music has been described as folk, indie/rock similar to the sound of the successful Irish act, The Script with meaningful and poetic lyrics showing the influences of songwriting legend's Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen. The history behind Boyle's interest in songwriting began ten years ago when he composed and recorded his first album 'Hit The Road'. The proceeds from this album went to a fund for Beaumont Hospital, Dublin after he received a life threatening head injury. After making a full recovery Conor set about raising money for the people involved in treating his injury and decided to use his love for music and the chance to repay a debt to a cause very close to his heart as inspiration. The single 'Beautiful Horizon' is due for release on 13th December and all who attend the gigs will get a free copy as well as a free demo CD. Friday's show starts at 9.30pm.
