Navan On Ice rink takes shape at racecourse

With less than two weeks to go until the opening of Navan On Ice, works have begun on the large arena that will host Navan’s new and exciting Christmas experience. Ice rink manager Ciaran O’Brien, who has being recently employed by promoters, the Profile Music Group, said: “It’s going to be a great boost to the local economy with approximately 30 staff members being employed to run the event, from reception staff to medical staff and experienced skaters to patrol the ice over the Christmas period.” Navan On Ice has also joined forces with Tony O’Reilly of O’Reilly Coaches will be providing a shuttle bus service around Navan, Johnstown and Blackcastle on a regular basis, ensuring all members of the public have options of getting to Navan On Ice at Navan Racecourse. Navan On Ice website ticketing will be available from 8th November, and already a large number of schools, clubs and groups have been booking their Christmas outings there. Ciaran O’Brien added: “Thankfully, we’ve managed to secure a number of special offers around the town with local businesses, such as accommodation deals with the Newgrange Hotel, meal deals with Copper & Spices restaurant and go-karting deals with The Zone, so really there is a package available for all.” Additional advertising space around the ice rink is still available and market stall applications are also coming in fast.
