Inaugural Meath Business Awards night next week

THE INAUGURAL Meath Business & Tourism Awards are just over a week away and, while the excitement grows for the nominees, the event intends to highlight the huge selection of great business people and initiative there is in Meath. On Thursday, 4th November, the Dunboyne Castle Hotel & Spa will host to the awards dinner, where the category winners will be announced, before an overall winner is chosen by judges.

The level of enthusiasm evinced for a celebration of progressive businesses, has seen The Meath Chronicle being partnered in undertaking the awards with Meath County Council and Meath Tourism. The nine-category award night, which is sponsored by hosts Dunboyne Castle, Alltech (marketing category) and SRC (global/international category) will also be a chance for companies in the area to take stock of what innovative, high-calibre, customer-focused, environmentally friendly strategies they have made work for them - talk of tough times will have to be relegated for one night at least.

Organisers of the ground-breaking event include Michele Whelan from Meath Tourism, Kevin Stewart and Claire King from Meath County Council, local councillors John Farrelly and Anne Dillon-Gallagher, Leonie Thornton from Dunboyne Castle hotel, guest speaker Dr Pearse Lyons, founder of Alltech, and the Meath Chronicle’s Mary McGuigan and Mary Smyth. Judges are Leonie Thornton, Kevin Stewart and Frank Long, finance director, Meath Chronicle.
