Trim Musical Society takes a trip down memory lane

Trim Musical Society celebrates 25 years with two concerts this weekend in Trim Town Hall. Following many years of support from audiences in the Leinster area, the multiple national award-winning musical society will take audiences on a musical journey with excerpts from shows staged from 1987 to date. Many of the well known favourites, 'Oklahoma’, 'The Merry Widow’, 'South Pacific’, 'Showboat’, 'Fiddler on the Roof’, 'My Fair Lady’, 'Hello Dolly’, 'Jesus Christ Superstar’, 'Anything Goes’, 'Jekyll and Hyde’ and 'The White Horse Inn’ all will feature in two nights’ entertainment for all musical tastes. Part of the celebrations are the return to the stage of many faces synonymous with Trim Musical Society over the years, with PV Dunne, Teresa Carley, Chris Cleary, Mick Miley, Fionnuala Ennis, Colin Kelly and Kevin Byrne all making a welcome return, joining today’s cast and full chorus. Graham Walsh is the musical director and Jane Lynch is the guest musical director with Gareth Mahony as producer. A special appearance will be made by the musical society stage school, Stagecraft, providing a chance to see the future of a very proud musical society which has always prided itself on casting all its shows from within the society. The shows are on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th October at 8pm, with adult tickets €12 and children’s tickets €10. Tickets are on sale in Pat O’Byrne’s Mans Shop, Siopa an Caislean (opposite Trim Town Hall) or on (086) 087 0713.
