Recent deaths 12-06-10

The death occurred on 4th May last of Mr William (Willie) Smyth (85) of Grange, Castletown KP, at his residence. Mr Smyth worked for over 50 years with farmer Patsy Meade, trainer of father Noel Meade, at Painstown, and had a keen interest in horse racing, as well as Gaelic games. He was honorary president of Castletown GAA at the time of his passing, and held a junior championship medal with Meath from 1947. Deceased is survived by his wife, Rosie; sons, Paddy and Colm, Grange, Castletown; daughters, Ann Brodigan, Alverno Heights, Laytown; Mona Smyth, Rahood, Nobber; Pauline Reilly, Balreask, Navan; Teresa Smith, Rathe, Nobber; Cora Cluskey, Cedarfield, Drogheda; Noeline Bray, Boyerstown; sister, Maisie Allen; brother-in-law, Jimmy, St Bridget's Villas, Navan; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The funeral took place from St Patrick's Church, Castletown, to the local cemetery. A month's memory Mass will be celebrated there on Sunday next, 13th June, at 11.30am. _____________________________________________________________ Anne O'Callaghan, Navan Widespread sadness was occasioned by the recent death at the Mater Private Hospital, Dublin, of Mrs Anne O'Callaghan, Juniper House, Alexander Reid, Navan. A member of the Fleming family of Wilkinstown, she had a great love of music and was a member of St Mary's Musical Society in Navan for many of its early years, as well as being a member of the Tara Choir. A keen gardener, she was also a member of An Taisce. Deceased is survived by her husband, Patrick; daughters, Grainne and Aisling; mother, Nancy Fleming; brothers, Sean and Noel Fleming; sister, Mary Keenan; brother-in-law, Oliver; sister-in-law, Chrissie; aunts and other relatives. The funeral took place from Johnstown Church to St Mary's Cemetery, Navan. _____________________________________________________________ William Pilsworth, Rathmolyon The regretted death occurred, in his 100th year, of Mr William John Kilpatrick Pilsworth, Nenthorne, Rathmolyon, at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan, on 10th May last. A native of Springfield, Grangecon, Co Wicklow, Mr Pilsworth moved to Rathmolyon in the early 1950s, where he carried out poultry farming on a small scale into the late 1970s. Deceased is survived by his niece, Helen Dawson and family, Templeogue, Dublin; relatives and friends. The Funeral Service took place at St Michael and All Angels Church of Ireland Church, Rathmolyon, followed by burial in Ballynure Graveyard, Co Wicklow.
