Rathkenny Revels show continues this weekend

Rathkenny Revels' 46th annual production has opened in the Solstice Arts Centre in Navan, where it continues this weekend. The show offers quality, quantity, great comedy, absolute variety, traditional modern rock choruses with great singers - everything for the person whose taste varies in music. Current chairperson Mary Crilly said: "When Fr Michael Murchan started Rathkenny Revels in 1964, he could not possibly have foreseen the level of interest it would generate both through the membership and the viewing audience 46 years later in 2010!" The children are fantastic in this 46th year of production, with new stars emerging in both the younger and older groups, and the mime act makes a really welcome return to the show. The Revels' profile has increased significantly through online booking and media interest over the past number of years with many of the cast performing nationally on television. Just recently, Paul Powderly was featured on 'Ireland's Got Talent'. "The cast has been fantastic this year and the organising team have got everything bang on in time for the show," Ms Crilly added. "I am very proud to be involved with this group. They are dedicated to the extreme and live, eat and sleep for the Revels. Revels has always had great talented people both in the cast and experts running the show. Without their time over the winter months, it would not be possible to stage a show of this quality every year, and still make it different!" Booking is at (046) 909 2300, www.solsticeartscentre.ie or at the box office. The show continues on Friday and Saturday at 8pm. Tickets are €15.
