Killeen flies Meath flag in Orlando

Killeen Castle Golf Club flew the flag for golf and tourism in County Meath on the Tourism Ireland stand at the recent PGA Golf Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida. The PGA Show is one of the biggest annual golf shows in the US, attracting over 45,000 golf professionals and around 1,000 golf media. Joe Byrne, Tourism Ireland's executive vice president for the United States and Canada, said: "North America is a very important market for tourism to the island of Ireland. Despite the anticipated decline in access from North America to the island of Ireland and Europe in general this year, Tourism Ireland will be working closely with our tourism industry partners to deliver a plus two per cent growth in visitors. "Our strong promotional campaigns will emphasise the convenience and value of a golf holiday on the island of Ireland. We will be highlighting great golf deals to drive home to US consumers the superb range of offers available on courses around the island of Ireland. The golf market remains a priority for Tourism Ireland in the US and we will mount a significant promotional programme in the run-up to, and during, the Solheim Cup, which takes place at Killeen Castle in Dunsany in 2011."
