Trim poet launches collection

There was a great turnout at Trim Library for the recent launch of local poet Tommy Murray's new poetry book. 'Counting Stain Glass Windows' was launched on 20th August by local poet Tom French and MC on the night was Michael A Regan. Mr Murray's new book is a collection of 28 poems that is being published by Lapwing Press in Belfast. Twenty of the poems have won awards and a number of them are about local places, including Rathnally Boreen, the ruins at Newtown and Stella's Cottage at Laracor. The name 'Counting Stained Glass Windows' was chosen by Tommy Murray for the book as it was the poem that won him the Poet of Fingal competition, a contest he won two years in a row. This is the first time that one of his books is being published by a publisher. His first two books, 'The Boyne' and 'Something Beginning With Spring', were self-published.
