Kathleen McNally, Freffans Great sadness was occasioned by the passing at her home on Christmas Day of Mrs Kathleen McNally, Freffans, Trim. Aged 86, deceased was a native of Rochfortbridge, Co Westmeath. Mrs McNally worked in the caring profession, 21 years of which were spent in St Joseph"s Hospital, Trim, until her retirement in 1989. She was described as a much respected and admired staff member by Sr Margaret and other members of staff. Deceased also enjoyed the company of her family and friends, loved her bingo and met with her many friends on Friday nights, particularly Betty and Mena. She was predeceased by her husband, Paddy, in 1989, and grandson, David, last year. Mrs McNally is survived by her sons, Seamus, The Rock, Trim, and Pauge, Kennastown, Trim; daughters, Mary Stanley, Dunderry, and Kathleen Hanley, Rathcore, Enfield; sons-in-law, Sonny and Michael; daughters-in-law, Claire and Caroline; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her remains were removed from her home to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Dangan, with burial in the adjoining cemetery following the funeral Mass. A month"s memory Mass will take place in Dangan Church on Saturday 31st January at 8pm. Molly Carry, Drumconrath Great sadness was occasioned over a wide area by the recent death of Mrs Molly Carry of Drumgill, Drumconrath, in her 95th year. Deceased died peacefully at the residence of her daughter, Rosie, at Drumgill. Originally a member of the Hickey family of Drumconrath, she was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Carry, 25 years ago. She loved bingo, was a great baker and in recent years enjoyed attending the local senior citizens parties. Deceased is survived by her sons, Paddy and Thomas; daughters, Peggy, Mary, Kathleen, Rosie, Sheila and Bridie; sister, Julia; brothers, Michael, Phil and Hughie; sister-in-law, Alice; daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her remains were removed from her daughter Rosie"s residence to the Church of Saints Peter and Paul, Drumconrath, and her funeral, which was attended by a large crowd, took place to the local cemetery. Mary Ann English, Bohermeen The much regretted death occurred on 31st December last of Mrs Mary Ann English, Allenstown, Kells. She passed away exactly eight years after her husband, Tony, died on the same date in 2000. Aged 84, she was a member of the Farmer family of Ardan, Clonbur, Co Galway. Mrs English was a much-loved homemaker to her husband and family of ten. She is survived by her sons, Joe, Longford, Seamus, High Wycombe, England, Oliver, Allenstown and Pat, Nugentstown, Kells; daughters, Florence Morrisson, Wales, Kathleen O"Brien, Dunshaughlin, Eileen Devine, Celbridge, Mary Ackerman, Essex, England, Bernie Gilsenan, Hayestown and Breege Rogers, Allenstown; brother, Pat Farmer, Dublin; cousins Mark and Jack Holian, Galway, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. The removal took place from the residence of her daughter, Breege Rogers, to St Ultan"s Church, Bohermeen, where Funeral Mass was celebrated prior to burial in the adjoining cemetery. A months" memory Mass will take place there on Saturday, 31st January at 8pm. John Heffron, Clongill The regretted death occurred on 11th January last of Mr John Heffron, Clongill, Donaghpatrick, Navan, at Our Lady"s Hospital, Navan. He was aged 87. Deceased was a native of Doolough, Co Mayo, and was educated in the local national school there, St Enda"s College in Galway, and St Patrick"s College, Drumcondra. In 1938, he migrated to the Gibbstown Gaeltacht and worked for a time in England in the early 1940s.On his return to Ireland some years later, he married Anna Maguire of Kells, and worked in the Post Office, the ESB and Tara Mines. He was a fluent Irish speaker and also had an avid interest in literature, publishing poetry occasionally. He served as secretary of Donaghpatrick Fianna Fail cumann for a time. Deceased is survived by his wife, Anna; sons, Sean, PJ, Martin, Eugene and Brendan; sisters, Mary Carry and Teresa Doran; daughters-in-law, Teresa, Bridie and Marian; brother-in-law, John Doran; six grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The funeral took place from St Catherine"s Church, Fletcherstown, to Gibbstown Cemetery. A month"s memory Mass will take place in Fletcherstown on Sunday 15th February at 10am. Albert Cole, Kentstown The death of Mr Albert Cole of Kentstown, Navan, at the age of 80 in Our Lady"s Hospital, Navan, caused great sadness over a wide area. A retired farmer, he was a native of Dowth. Deceased is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughter, Maria; sons, Gerard, Brendan and Anthony; brothers, Patsy and Jack; sister, Molly McDonnell; nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. His remains were removed to the Church of the Assumption, Kentstown, and the funeral took place after the funeral Mass there to Kentstown Cemetery. Catherine Hanley, Nobber & England The recent death has occurred of Mrs Catherine (Kathleen) Hanley, a native of Cregg, Nobber, who died recently in Reading, England, after a short illness. Deceased, who had lived in England since the 1950s, was originally a member of the Maguire family from Nobber and was married to Roscommon man, Nacie Hanley, who died 17 years ago. She is survived by her children, John and Marie, and grandchildren, David and Joe, all of whom live in England; sisters, Eileen, England, and Frances, Nobber, and brothers, Colm and Kevin, Nobber. The late Mrs Hanley was due to be buried in Reading this week. pHYLLIS O"Connor, Gibbstown Sadness was occasioned over a wide area by the recent death of Mrs Phyllis O"Connor, Bush Road, Gibbstown, at the Mater Hospital in Dublin. She was aged 81. Mrs O"Connor, who was originally a member of the Carroll family of Athlumney, Navan, was predeceased by her husband, Dan O"Connor, in 1988. Deceased is survived by her son, Batt O"Connor, Bush Road; daughters, Mary Cassidy, Bush Road; Kathleen Byron, Merseyside, England; Helen Black, Kilmainham; Ann Robinshaw, Cheshire, England, and Orla Curran, Wilkinstown, Navan; daughter-in-law, Sarah; sons-in-law, Ambrose Cassidy, Steve Byron, Declan Black, John Robinshaw and Seamus Curran; grandchildren, Karen, David and Shane Cassidy; Kevin and Michael Byron; Conor Black; Brian, Niamh, Michelle, Labhaoise and Áine O"Connor; sisters-in-law, Kitty Carroll, Sheila Carroll, Breda Carroll and Norah O"Connor; nieces and nephews. The funeral took place from St Catherine"s Church, Oristown, to Gibbstown Cemetery. Kate White, Clongill The death occurred peacefully at her residence on New Year"s Day of Mrs Kate White, Clongill, Donaghpatrick, Navan, and formerly of Belmullet and Mayo Road, following a long illness which she had bravely fought. Predeceased by her husband, Andy, deceased is survived by her sons, Paddy and Jimmy; daughter, Maureen; daughter-in-law, Jean; son-in-law, Robbie; grandsons, Andrew and wife Amanda, Robert, Colin, Gordon and partner Eileen, and Barry; granddaughters, Michelle, Aisling and Kathryn and husband, Ron; great granddaughters, Emily, Kate, Ruth and Lucy; great grandsons Adam and Vincent; sister, Rosie, Scotland; nephews, nieces and other relatives. Mrs White"s love of music was reflected in the funeral Mass at St John the Baptist Church, Kilberry. Burial followed in Gibbstown Cemetery.
