Brunnock returns from NY for hometown gig

Kells native Michael Brunnock plays a special gig in his hometown on Monday night 29th December when he appears in The Railway Bar. Brunnock rose through the burgeoning ranks, fronting the band 'Little Palace" becoming the darlings of the Irish music in the mid to late 90s. He moved to New York eight years ago and quickly became a favourite live act at many popular downtown venues. He has also become part of New York"s Fairplay Collective, along with Brendan O"Shea, Jenna Nicholls and Mark Dignam. Since the release of his new acclaimed album 'So I Do" in June 2007, Brunnock returned to his native Ireland for his first Irish concerts in six years. He has also been touring extensively in the States and has opened for the Frames and The Swell Season on their recent sold out American tours. The success of his latest CD resulted earning him more and more fans as well as positive reviews in online music magazines 'Giant Step" and 'Fish and Crown" and an interview on indiesoundsny.com. He was invited to perform live in front of channel FOX5"s 'Fearless Music" show, which is viewed by millions on each Saturday night in the US. His audience is wide, ranging between 18-55 years age group. The New Year sees him playing in such renowned venues in New York as The Bowery Ballroom and The Living Room and Joe"s Public Theatre. From the beginning there is an Irish flavour to this record, which might be expected from an artist holding on to his identity in the melting pot that is NYC. Michael Brunnock returns home this Christmas with another New York Irish favourite, Mr North on Saturday 27th December in The Village on Wexford Street, Dublin and a special concert in his native Kells on Monday 29th December at The Railway Bar.
