Ms S McGoldrick, Skryne The death occurred in Perth, Australia, on 29th September last, of Ms Sarah McGoldrick, Macetown, Tara, aged 21 years. A Montessori teacher, Ms McGoldrick died suddenly while on a working trip around Australia. She was enjoying the travelling lifestyle and had made many friends wile on her travels during the nine months she spent in Australia. She was looking forward to returning home before Christmas and seeing everyone. Deceased is survived by her parents, Patrick and Ann (Nano) McGoldrick, Macetown; sister, Niamh;, brothers, Derek, David and Paul; grandmother, Mrs Evelyn McGuinness, Sallins, Co Kildare; aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends. The funeral took place from St Colmcille"s Church to the adjoining Skyrne Cemetery on Saturday 11th October. Mr J Foy, Athboy Athboy lost one of its most senior citizens and best loved characters with the death of Mr Jim Foy, St Joseph"s Villas, on 14th October last, just four days before his 92nd birthday. Mr Foy died peacefully at St Elizabeth"s Nursing Home. Born on 18th October 1916 in Dublin, Mr Foy grew up on the family farm at Pluckstown and attended Cloran National School where he met Lena Gilmore, who was to become his wife in 1939. The lived for a brief period at Killua before moving to Athboy town to bring up their family. In 1953, they moved to St Joseph"s Villas. Deceased was regarded as a hard worker from his early days on the Englishby family farm at Pluckstown to other employment with Moores of Frayne, and the Gorman and Castles families in Athboy, amongst others. In his younger days, he played hurling with Brownstown in Westmeath and cricket with Addinstown. He was also a member of the Athboy Fire Service at one stage. Mr Foy is survived by his wife, Lena; sons, Paddy, Athboy, Seamus, Liverpool and Anthony, Athboy; daughters, May Holland, Josie Kelly, Noeleen Quinn, Carmel McDermott and Mona Dineen, all Athboy; in-laws, 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, great great grandchild; aunt, Mrs Margaret Donohoe, Killeen, Dunshaughlin; cousins, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. He was affectionately known to his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and numerous children in the locality as 'Daddy Jim". At his funeral Mass, Fr Oliver Devine, PP, Ballivor, described him as a man of strong religious belief who prayed daily for his family. The funeral Mass took place from St James" Church, Athboy, to St James" Cemetery, where he was laid to rest alongside his late mother, Mary, who died in 1990, aged 98. He was also predeceased last year by his sister, Mrs Mona O"Brien, Inchicore, Dublin. Mr P Coffey, Enfield The regretted death occurred on 2nd October last of Mr Peter Coffey, Rathrone, Enfield, at the Mater Private Hospital. Mr Coffey (64) was a native of Possextown, Enfield and worked as a sales executive. He was known the length and breadth of Ireland as he had been a sales executive for 40 years. He had a great love of drama, cards and sport. Deceased is survived by his wife, Frances; daughter, Anne Marie, Enfield; sons, Patrick, Carlow, and Peter, Yorkshire, England; daughter-in-law Julie, Yorkshire; brother Matt; sister Mae, Possextown; sister-in-law Ann; nephews, Gerard, Mark, Paul, David; nieces, Claire and Emma; aunt-in-law, Nancy Bagnall, Summerhill, and a large circle of cousins, friends and neighbours. His remains were removed to Jordanstown Church where funeral Mass took place followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Mr N Murtagh, Dunderry Widespread regret was caused by the death on 4th October last, in Virgen del Rocio Hospital, Seville, Spain, of Mr Noel (Noelie) Murtagh, Fr Flood Park, Dunderry, aged 49. Deceased had a great love of football and singing, and will be sadly missed by family, relatives and many friends. A minute"s silence was held in memory of Mr Murtagh prior to the start of the recent Intermediate Football Final between St Ultan"s and Cortown, and at the Intermediate Hurling Championship final between Dunderry and Gaeil Colmcille in memory of Mr Murtagh. He was a member of the Harps team that won the Intermediate football title in 1985, and later played with Dunderry. Deceased is survived by his wife, Patricia; son, Darren; daughters, Anne Marie and Kelly Ann; mother, Nancy; sisters, Bernadette Brady and Carmel Dolan; granddaughter, Ellie May; mother-in-law, Rita McGarry, Gibbstown; partner, Ellen Farrelly; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. The funeral took place from Dunderry Church to Bohermeen Cemetery. A month"s memory Mass takes place on Saturday 1st November at 8pm in Bohermeen Church. Mrs N Quaid, Kells CONSIDERABLE sadness was occasioned in Kells in mid-October with the news of the passing at Our Lady"s Hospital, Navan of Mrs Nuala Quaid (66) of Tobair Bán, Oldcastle Road. A member of the Carolan family of Suffolk Street, she was a much-loved wife, mother and grandmother, with a wide circle of friends. She is survived by her husband, Joe; daughter Martina McInerney, Crossakiel; son, John, Kells, brothers, Eric Carolan, St Albans, UK, and Mr Noel Carolan, Harrogate, UK, son- and daughter-in-law; grandchildren, Matthew and Ciara; relatives and friends. Her remains were removed to St Colmcille"s Church where funeral Mass was celebrated prior to interment in St Colmcille"s Cemetery.
