Countdown begins to Kells/Blackwater soccer tournament

The annual and highly popular Kells/Blackwater soccer tournament will take place over a number of weekends in August.  
Each year the tournament attracts between 1,500 to 2,000  players from the a wide range of clubs in counties such Louth, Monaghan, Cavan, Westmeath, Clare, Kilkenny, Galway, Kildare, Longford, Offaly, Dublin and of course Meath. 
One of the chief driving forces behind the tournament, Patrick Matthews, is these days helped out by a hard-working committee. 
The schedule for this year's tournament is: u-8 ( 2010)- Sunday 26th August; u-9 ( 2009  )- Saturday 25th August; u- 10 ( 2008 ) - Saturday 25th August; u- 11 ( 2007 ) - Sunday 26th of August; u-12 ( 2006 ) and u-13 ( 2005 ) - Saturday the 11th August and Saturday the 18th August; u- 14 ( 2004 ),  u-15 ( 2003), u-16 ( 2002 ) and u-17 (2001) - Sunday the 12th and Sunday the 19th of August.
