Navan's Eoin King powers forward.

Late try spoils Navan's afternoon

The concession of a late penalty try proved costly for Navan as they lost 18-19 to AIL Div 2B league leaders Old Cresent at Balreask Old today.

Navan trailed 3-12 at the break and edged ahead 18-12 at one stage in the second-half but they were caught by that late penalty try.

The home side, who were fourth going into the game were also awarded a penalty try while Willie Staunton also went over in the corner for them. Staunton also scored two penalties.

The game was a highly entertaining, uncompromising encounter and Navan were left bitterly disappointed at the end not to have edged out their opponents when they had the lead in the second-half.
