Meath's Tom Sheridan added yet another All-Ireland title to his already vast collection this weekend when he overcame Kildare's Mick Dowling on Saturday in Mullingar in the Master's Hardball Championship.

Sheridan wasted no time on his road to victory gaining a 10-2 lead on his Kildare opponent. With an age defying display of fitness he always had Dowling on the backfoot. Executing the perfect shot time and again, Dowling just couldn't manage to get a foothold in the game. Sheridan took the first game 21-6.

Dowling started off stronger after the break and led 3-0 but Sheridan who has been playing this code for 25 years quickly responded. Back in to serve he went 12-3 ahead before Dowling had the ball in hand. The Kildare man, determined to make it count, got two more aces before Sheridan went back in to take an 18-5 lead. Dowling could only manage one more ace before Sheridan closed out the game at 21-6, and with it, added another All-Ireland title to his impressive yield.

Sheridan will be flying out to Texas later this week to participate in the US Nationals where he will surely be making an major impression. Local juveniles Robert Fox and Evan Sheridan will also be entering their respective under-age grades in Houston. Play begins on Wednesday, 23rd June.

Also in Mullingar, Meath's Carl Browne and Joe Cummins contested the Junior Doubles All-Ireland final against Kilkenny's Daniel Love and William Love.

The Kilkenny duo took the first game 21-19, Meath won the second 21-19. However, the Kilkenny pair finished stronger to win 21-16.
