BOARDSMILL looked set to gain their first A HL Div 1 win on Thursday evening only to be denied by a last-gasp point from Clann na nGael at Athboy.

The home side made a bright start and led 1-6 to 0-4 at the interval. Boardsmill improved dramatically in the second-half and a great solo run by Eric Cribbin ended with a point that put them in front in the closing stages however, Clann na nGael grabbed their last-gasp equaliser. Ray Hatton, Cribbin and Niall O'Rourke stood out for Boardsmill.

Kilmessan raced into a 0-13 to 0-3 lead in the first-half, but the accuracy of Padraig Geoghegan and Dan Fagan and a Padraig Keogh goal helped Kildalkey cut the deficit to 1-7 to 0-13 at the break.

Jimmy McGuinness was introduced and played well at left half-forward as Kilmessan scored a comfortable A HL Div 3 win over Wolfe Tones on Saturday.

Kilmessan led by 2-5 to 0-4 at the interval and were well-served by Paddy Farrell, Leon Maguire, Thomas Oakes and Scott Bagnall.
