Isaac Boss in action for Ireland

Boss and Popplewell to appear at Navan RFC lunch

Former Irish internationals Isaac Boss and Nick Popplewell will be guests of honour at Navan RFC's fund-raising, corporate  lunch at the Ardboyne Hotel, Navan on Friday 1st December. 

Boss who is originally from New Zealand, played 16 times for Ireland at senior level  from 2006 to 2015. He also turrned out for Ulster and Leinster. 

The President of Navan RFC Gerry Williamson recalls how Boss played his first game for Ulster against Leinster at Balreask Old. 

"He had just flown in from New Zealand the day before and he lined out for Ulster the next day against Leinster in a pre-season friendly at Balreask Old. Now he's coming back to Navan." 

Popplewell won 48 caps for Ireland from 1989 to '98 and played for Greystones RFC and Newcastle Falcons as well as the British & Irish Lions.

The MC for the night will be Michael Jackson, who is know to many as the Director of Rugby at Blackrock College and who is noted for his witty turn of phrase.
