Meath Pool League Div 2 Table

Meath Pool League focus

Bective A got their first win in the Meath Pool League Div 1 on Friday night with a 7-2 victory against Fox’s A.

Playing at home, the Bective team produced a stunning performance as they found some good form after an average start to the season.

Wth Fox’s boosted by two Irish internationals and a Cavan A team player many knowledgeable enthusiasts were of the opinion thay they would be to strong for the Bective A crew.

However, the opening frames went to Bective with the Rory Callan, Joe Gillespie, Ciaran O’Sullivan and Rod Clifford all taking out superb finishes for a 4-0 lead highlighted by wins against the international players. The tide turned in the next two frames where Tom Duignan and Paddy Quinn got good wins, but Bective were not playing to the script and won the next three matches.

In the other Div 1 game, Alfie’s moved into joint-leadership with a hard-earned 7-5 victory against a Balreask A team that has yet to win.

There was better luck for Balreask’s B team in Div 2 where they demolished Fitzimons A

Balreask B showed why they are favourites for the Div 2 title with the Carnaross Inn as they won 7-0.

The Fitzimons crew displayed improved form over the past few weeks, but never got going in this outing.

There was some strong performances from Danny Shields, Tino Borez, David Gilkeson, Shane Dowdall, Joe Mckeever and Stephen Smith all very strong on the night.
