DON'T MISS: Trim 10-mile road race on Sunday

The Meath Chronicle will have Live Facebook updates from the Trim AC10-mile road race next Sunday, 12pm with 1,500 runners expected to set off from the starting line.

The race will be staged over a fast, flat, rural route which starts and finishes in Trim from Oaktree Business Park taking in Dunderry and Kilbride.

The race, now in its third year, will be supported by Bewleys.

Number/t-shirt pick-up will be available on Saturday, from 10am to 7pm from Spun Cycles & Spun Run, Emmet Street and on Sunday in NG Performance & Rehabilitation Gym, Oaktree Business Park (which will be Race HQ) from 9.30am until 11.30am.

The race is now established as the largest participation single race event in the county and the rate of registrations has meant that the club will close entry at 1,500.

There will be cash prizes for category, age groups and teams. Water stations will be at four and seven miles. Post-race refreshments and prizegiving will be at the Diocesan Hall, Loman Street opposite St Patrick's Church of Ireland.

There will be no on-the-weekend registration due to the huge number of online entries. If you intend running, you must register on or before Friday.

Registration will close at midnight on Friday.

This race is AAI approved and will be chip timed. There will be pacers on the day for 70, 80, 90 and 100-minute target times.

Parking will be available on-street and there also also a number of car parks around the town.

Parking is free on Sundays. There will be marshals around the town to assist with directions and parking.

There will be a bag drop available at Race HQ. (close to the finish line in NG Performance & Rehabilitation Gym).

In its first year the men's and women's winning times set by Martin Fagan and Breege Connolly were among the fastest 10-mile times recorded in Ireland that year. Last year's winners were Paddy Hamilton and Aine O'Reilly.
