There was plenty of celebrations in the Mooney household in Curraha last night after Helen Mooney partnered her first winner on the track.
Helen is the daughter of trainer Paddy Mooney and a sister of jockey Martin and had previously ridden two point-to-point winners
At Tramore last night she won the opening race, a two-mile event with the Dessie Hughes-trained Swiftmarc and had five lengths to spare at the post.
Swiftmarc finished a close fifth to Silverhand at Galway a couple of weeks ago and is rated 121 over hurdles.
The seven-year-old is now likely to go over fences with a race at Kilbeggan on Friday 20th August a possibility.
There was also a Meath flavour in the last race when Navan jockey Andrew Thornton took the spoils with the Pat Martin-trained Fleeting Moment in a maiden hurdle.
