The Noel Meade-trained Gracchus got his head in front at Leopardstown tonight in a handicap following a number of promising runs.
This was Meade's fifth flat winner of the season and Gracchus may go to Galway next week where is likely to have runners on the flat and over jumps with Nicanor a possibility for the Galway Plate.
Johnny Murtagh added another two winners to his tally for the season to take him to the 50 mark, one behind leader Fran Berry.
Murtagh won with Zoffany (1/7) in the Tyros Stakes and he also won the last race for trainer Andrew Heffernan with Princess Lomi.
Declan McDonogh was also on the mark with Snow Watch for boss Kevin Prendergast and is now on 30 for the season.
Ashbourne jockey Andrew Lynch made the journey to Limerick worthwhile when he partnered 14/1 chance Qeasy to a mares' maiden hurdle for his sixth winner of the season.
