Popular amateur jockey Nina Carberry was removed to hospital after the last race at Leopardstown today.

Carberry, who is on the 35-winner mark for the season and is in fifth place in the jockeys' title race, was on board the Edward Hales-trained runner-up Timesawastin which was 10 lengths behind winner Hidden Universe in the bumper.

The Meath woman sustained a foot injury in the race and was promptly removed to nearby St Vincent's hospital for treatment.

UPDATE

During the race, the last race on the card at the Foxrock track on Saturday, her left foot got caught on the running rail.

This resulted in a dislocated toe which will leave her on the sidelines for a short period, but she hopes to be back in action as soon as possible.
