Navan businessman Eamonn Duignan could have a Triumph Hurdle contender in Secant Star which won the opening race at Gowran park yesterday.

The gelding fell at the last hurdle on his racecourse debut at Leopardstown on 27th December with the race at his mercy.

Ruby Walsh renewed the partnership at the Kilkenny track and had the race in the bag before the last, which, on this occasion, was negotiated successfully.

A hurdle race at Leopardstown on Sunday, 7th February could be the next target and the Meath-owned horse is now around 12/1 for the Cheltenham race next March.
