Meath players demonstrate a drill at the Meet & Greet this evening at Dunganny

Meet and Greet at Dunganny - build up to Joe McDonagh Cup

The Meath hurlers were in the limelight this evening at a meet and grret evening at Dunganny ahead of the opening round of the Joe McDonagh Cup on Saturday week against Antrim.

The publicity event also served as a media opportunity for the members of the local press with interviews conducted with manager Nick Fitzgerald, selector Michael Kavanagh and team captain James Kelly.

While those interviews were taking place, the players and the other selectors were doing 'what it said on the tin' at the outset, the players took time out to meet their supporters and especially the young fans who collected autographs and had photos with their favourite players.

The Liam Mac Carthy Cup was also on display and was in demand for photographs also.

There will be a preview of the Joe McDonagh Cup - the new Tier 2 HC - in the next edition of the Meath Chronicle.
