Tones triumph against Duleek/Bellewstown

Wolfe Tones claimed an impressive fourth round SFC victory against Duleek / Bellewstown at Castletown tonight where they recorded a 2-20 to 0-10 success to maintain their push for a place in the knock-out stages.

Apart from the opening quarter when the teams shared 10 points, this was a one-sided encounter with Duleek / Bellewstown totally outclassed as they trailed by 0-5 to 1-12 at the interval.

Saran O Fionnagain scored the goal for Wolfe Tones in the 20th minute after his side had squandered a couple of earlier opportunities to find the net.

Duleek / Bellewstown lost midfielder Robin Clarke to a 29th minute black card that he could have avoided, but it didn't have any major impact on the outcome.

Jamie Crosby was the livliest player for Duleek / Bellewstown and displayed a great attitude as he claimed three points with John Flood sending over five and one eeach from Kevin McCann and goalkeeper Anthony Dowling (45).

O Fionnagain scored 2-5 for the Tones with Cian Ward adding eight points, three each by Niall O'Reilly and Thomas O'Reilly and a lone effort by Dan O'Neill.

The remaining game in the fourth round of this group will see Gaeil Colmcille tackle Donaghmore / Ashbourne tomorrow evening.
