In 1989 Enda Mc Manus and Tony Byrne starred on the Meath minor team that won the All Ireland final that year. Both were subs on the team that won the Junior championship and were stars of the teams that subsequently won the Intermediate and Senior finals.

Barry Leonard was man of the match in the replayed final with two match winning saves.
