Referees' targeted

The A FL Div 2 encounter between Dunderry and Rathkenny was abandoned last Tuesday evening after the referee was allegedly abused by a Dunderry official.

The same evening a referee was allegedly assaulted after the A FL Div 4 encounter between Bective and hosts St Brigid's.

It is understood that four St Brigid's players were also red-carded, three during the game.

Bective won the game 1-13 to 0-4.

Both referees' reports are expected to be presented to the Meath Co Committee Controls Competition Committee (CCC) tonight (Thursday).
