From Ashbourne and married to Kathleen Twomey. An auctioneer, he was a member of Meath County Council from 1991 until 2004, and chairperson from 2001 to 2002. Since then, as club chairman since 2006, has devoted all his time and energies to Donaghmore/Ashbourne GAA Club and says the fruits of his labours and those of his colleagues there to be seen and utilised by all.
