Dear Sir - During some sad incidents in the Navan area recently I witnessed the excellent work carried out by Meath River Rescue.

This is a voluntary organisation. The volunteers give up their free time to train twice weekly and are on call at all times whatever the weather. What struck me most was the dignified, efficient and upcomplaining manner in which the work is carried out. They are marvellous group of citizens. In this present gloomy climate how refreshing it is to still see unselfish people like those of Meath River Rescue who are genuinely concerned for the welfare of others.

Cllr Francis Deane.

Navan.
