Woman killed in Drogheda Slane road crash tragedy named

The 59-year-old woman who died in yesterday's road traffic collision on the Drogheda Slane road at the King Williams Glen junction has been named as Claire Mullen, a guide at the Newgrange Interpretive Centre. Ms Mullen, a mother of three grown up children was driving a Renault Clio car when it was involved in the collision with an Opel van at 8am. The occupants of
 the van suffered non-life threatening injuries. Ms Mullen was removed from the scene but died at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. 

The road was closed for much of the day yesterday to facilitate a forensic collision examination. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses  to contact them in Drogheda on 041-987 4200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

Claire Mullen (Nee Walsh), Tullyallen, Drogheda Co. Louth and formerly of Sheepgrange. 1st February 2018. Beloved wife of Sean and loving mother to Michelle, Rita and Peter. Very sadly missed by her husband, daughters, son, sons in law Wayne and Eoghan, daughter in law Rachael, granddaughters Leah, Anna, Aveen and Aoife, sister Patricia, brother Tom, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Rest In Peace. Reposing at the home of her daughter Michelle, Sheepgrange, Drogheda from 3 o’clock until 8 o’clock on Saturday and Sunday evening. Removal on Monday morning at 10.30am arriving to the Church of the Assumption, Tullyallen for Funeral Mass at 11 o’clock. Burial afterwards in adjoining Cemetery.
