Art Deco ring expected to fetch €30,000 at Matthews

Auctioneers Matthews of Oldcastle conduct an interesting sale this Sunday at 2pm, with over 400 lots of jewellery, silver and collectables gathered throughout the year saved for this special auction. Top lot is expected to be Lot 200, an antique Art Deco diamond ring of approximately four carats. Its a rarity the auctioneer expects to fetch €20,000 - €30,000.

'These sorts of old cut stones are not seen nowadays' says the auctioneer Damien Matthews, 'and especially not of this colour and clarity. It's actually a conservative estimate, given the quality, but we'll wait and see, we'll know on the day'.

Other entries include a rare automotive collectable, a Rolls Royce car showroom model of the company emblem, the Spirit of Ecstasy. Designed by Charles Robinson Sykes its chrome plated and stands approximately 2ft High on a marble base. This lot is expected to fetch €500 - €800.

The Lots can be viewed on the auctioneer's website www.mattthewsauctionrooms.com or in person in Oldcastle from 11am this Friday December 11th.
