Crowds flocked to Bettystown and Laytown beaches in the past week.

Make most of good weather for next few days

Make the most of the next few days as next weekend looks like seeing a return to more typical, changeable June weather, forecasters predict.

It will stay mild and humid tonight with light and lowest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees Celsius.

Many places will be dry and rather warm on Wednesday, with some hazy sunshine, says Met Eireann. Isolated showers may develop inland for a time before dying out in the evening.

Temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees Celsius are likely generally but could hit 23 to 25 degrees inland.

It will be warm and humid again on Thursday and mostly dry but it will turn a bit cooler and fresher on Friday and the weekend looks like being a bit unsettled.
