Meath winners at restaurant awards

Meath local, Olivia Duff of Boyne Valley Food Series and the Headfort Arms Hotel, was named as the overall Leinster Local Food Hero at the Leinster Regional Final of the Irish Restaurant Awards last night.
Zucchini's restaurant in Navan was named best restaurant in Meath at the awards, which took place in Croke Park Stadium, Dublin. 
The other winners in Meath were: Best Chef- Rob Krawczyk of Brabazon at Tankardstown House;
Best Hotel Restaurant- Brabazon at Tankardstown House; Best Casual Dining- The Cellar Restaurant at Tankardstown House; Best Gastro Pub -The Snailbox Bar and Restaurant;
Best Newcomer - The Lime Kiln Gastropub; Best Café - Relish Café; Best Wine Experience - Brabazon at Tankardstown House; Best World Cuisine- Copper & Spices; Best Customer Service - The Vanilla Pod at Headfort Arms Hotel; Local Food Hero (Overall Leinster Winner) – Olivia Duff of Boyne Valley Food Series.
Over 500 restaurant owners and staff celebrated their hard work and achievements at the awards, which saw many well-known restaurateurs of Leinster turn out to see if they had won one of the prestigious awards.
Olivia Duff will find out if she has won the All Ireland Title at the Irish Restaurant Awards in the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel, Dublin on Monday 16th May, 2016, when all the county winners will also be competing for the regional and All Ireland title.
There are three components to phase two of the process including a mystery guest visit (55%); National Awards Academy judging panel (35%); and menu judging (10%).
