Meath man matches five numbers in Euromillions

There was great excitement at National Lottery offices today as a lucky man from Co Meath picked up a cheque for €118,533. He won the prize in last Friday’s EuroMillions draw when he matched five numbers. He was just two numbers away from scooping the mega €160 million jackpot. A player in Portugal won that prize.

The lucky winner wishes to keep the win private. He’s looking forward to sharing the good news with his family and making plans for the windfall. He bought his €9 Quick Pick ticket in Newsrail Ltd, St Lawrences Shopping Centre, Drogheda, Co  Louth.

Also on Friday, a lucky ticket holder in Ireland was one step closer to the €160 million jackpot. They matched five numbers plus one Lucky Star to win €355,600. The winning ticket was purchased in Tesco Extra on Monread Road in Naas, Co Kildare. The prize has not yet been claimed. All winners have 90 days from the day of the draw to collect a prize.
