Navan man dies following yesterday's assault

The 27 year old man who was critically injured in an assault at Tailteann Road, Navan, yesterday has died.

He has been named as Christopher Nevin.
Gardai in Navan have confirmed that the 27 year old died this afternoon and a post mortem will take place at the mortuary at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda tomorrow.  
The incident occurred at approximately 2.15pm yesterday at Tailteann Road, Windtown, Navan.
Christopher was seriously injured in an altercation with a number of other males. The males got into a silver car which drove off in the direction of the town centre. Christopher was taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.
A scene has been preserved at Tailteann Road.
Gardai in Navan are appealing for witnesses - anyone who was on the Tailteann Road or in the vicinity of Windtown between 1.50pm and 2.30pm on the 19th November or anyone who may have any information to contact them on 046 9079930, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
