Two men arrested in ashbourne

Two men involved in a robbery at the Apple Green Service Station in Ashbourne this morning were arrested by local gardai with assistance from customers of the shop.
The two men in their 20’s had entered the service station around 6.30am this morning and threatened staff and customers.
They were leaving the premises with property taken from the store, when they were arrested by the gardai from Ashbourne.
The men, who are believed to be from the Darndale area of Dublin, are currently in custody in Ashbourne.
Gardai are investigating a connection between this incident and a number of incidents in Dublin earlier this morning.
It is understood that two men attempted to gain entry to a house in Whitehall but failed to do so and a short time later it is believed the same men attempted to gain entry to a shop in the Santry area but were unsuccessful.
At approximately 6am Gardaí observed the men in a black 4 X 4 vehicle on Hillcrest Park, Glasnevin and signalled the vehicle to stop, but it failed to do so. Garda units followed this vehicle onto Glasnevin Park when it rammed a Garda Patrol car and sped from the scene. One member of An Garda Síochána was injured following this incident but the injuries were not serious.
